No Environmentalism in Presidential Debates

I wanted to highlight a story from today's Diane Rehm show. The focus in on the absence of discussion on environmental issues in the presidential debates. This is a topic that I had my students look into earlier this semester, and it's not surprising that this is not a top issue for the candidates, but it seems that when environmental issues are discussed, they are framed as economic of geopolitical issues. Why has environmentalism become taboo? Isn't it the environment something that we collectively share, something that should be on the agenda? If you're interested in this topic, you can find the show at: The Diane Rehm Show
